Boland Stud enjoyed a notable few days over the past week -not only did the Ceres farm top last week’s KZN Yearling Sale, but the Boland Stud bred Royal Agility scored for a second time in Hong Kong on Friday.
Six-year-old Royal Agility made it two wins from his last three starts when he captured the Riding High Together 1200m Handicap at Sha Tin on Friday.

Ridden by former champion South African jockey Lyle Hewitson, the Mambo In Seattle gelding stormed home to thrash War Front gelding Smart Folks by four and three-quarter lengths.

Royal Agility has now two wins and a second placing from his last four Hong Kong outings.
Raced in South Africa as Vontreo, he won in his native country and also finished third, to champion Hawwaam, in the G3 Tony Ruffel Stakes of 2019.

Out of the Captain Al mare Captain’s Lullaby, Royal Agility was a R260 000 buy from the 2017 KZN Yearling Sale.

Boland Stud enjoyed more success at this year’s KZN Sale -selling the sale’s top priced lot, a Vercingetorix colt, for R1 100 000.
The farm ended the 2022 KZN Yearling Sale as Leading Vendors by aggregate, with Boland Stud selling all seven of their lots for an aggregate of R2.21 million.
