Varsfontein Stud’s successful sire Judpot hails from one of the best and hottest families in the stud book, and Judpot gained a further handsome boost to his stellar pedigree this weekend, when his close relative Loves Only You won the G1 Yushun Himba (Japanese Oaks) on Sunday.

A full-sister to Arrowfield Stud sire and G1 Dubai Turf winner Real Steel, the 3yo Deep Impact filly Loves Only You took her record to four wins from as many starts when scoring a neck victory in Sunday’s 2400m Japanese classic.
With Mirco Demuro up, Loves Only You remained well back in the 18-filly field at the top of the long stretch, and with 200 meters to go, she still had a half dozen rivals in front of her. But she was under a full head of steam, ranged up outside extreme longshot Curren Bouquetd’or with 50 meters left, and got a neck in front for the victory.

Loves Only You won both of her starts as a 2-year-old, but a minor leg issue forced the Yoshito Yahagi trainee to miss the Oka Sho (Japanese One Thousand Guineas, G1), the first leg of Japan’s Triple Tiara for fillies. Instead, she easily posted her third straight win in the April 7 Wasurenagusa Sho at Hanshin.

Loves Only You’s third dam is none other than champion, and dual G1 Breeders’ Cup Mile winner, Miesque –whose progeny include French classic winners East Of The Moon and outstanding sire Kingmambo, as well as Cape sire Judpot.

Miesque also ranks as the third dam of 2018 Cartier Champion and four time G1 winner Alpha Centauri and she is also granddam of 2018 G1 Prix du Jockey Club (French Derby) winner Study Of Man (also sired by Deep Impact), who recently ran second in the G1 Prix Ganay.

This is also the family of 2019 G1 Dubai Sheema Classic hero Old Persian and G1 Breeders’ Cup Mile winner Six Perfections.
