The blue blooded Cullinan Blue (Lot 99) proved the star attraction at an emotional Klawervlei Dispersal Sale, which took place at Klawervlei on Monday.
From the immediate family of recent G1 winners Sun Goddess and Thesecretadversary, Cullinan Blue was knocked down to Lammerskraal Stud for R3 100 000 to top Monday’s auction.

A three time winning daughter of Vercingetorix, Cullinan Blue ran third in the Listed Swallow Stakes and fourth in the G2 SA Fillies Nursery.
The mare, who sold in foal to One World, is a full-sister to G3 Byerley Turk runner up I’m A Fireball and half-sister to the stakes placed pair of Battleoftrafalgar and Pillar Of Hercules.

Cullinan Blue is out of the top-class racemare Gibraltar Blue, with that daughter of Rock Of Gibraltar having won four G2 races including the G2 KRA Fillies Guineas.

Both One World and Vercingetorix are Klawervlei bred Equus Champions.

The 178 lots to go through the ring on Monday included stallion shares, broodmares and yearlings, and the gross total of the dispersal sale was R83 878 000.
