Varsfontein Stud’s homebred top sire Master Of My Fate had a good double at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Wednesday.
The strapping son of Jet Master went close to having a treble at the midweek meeting, with Master Of My Fate gelding Master Coiner finishing second in Wednesday’s sixth race.
Master Of My Fate filly Odds And Evens was rewarded for consistency when she won the Join The Race Coast Turf Club Maiden Plate (F and M) (1400m) on Wednesday.
Under Gavin Lerena, the Justin Snaith trained filly jumped out well and went to make the running.
Odds And Evens kept finding in the closing stage and she powered home to win by two and three quarter lengths.
Bred by Riethuiskraal Stud, Wednesday’s winner had finished second in her two starts prior to her maiden win.
Odds And Evens, who is out of the Black Minnaloushe mare Algebra, races for Messrs J A Kotze, D Musikanth, D C Stonebridge & Nigel Wilcox & Mr & Mrs C R Stonebridge.
Master Of My Fate struck again when his son Avignon made all to win Wednesday’s Lucky Fish Lightning Roulette Class 4 (1200m).
Under a well judged ride from Dezahn Louw, the Piet Botha trained six-year-old kept going in the closing stages to record a three-parts of a length win.
Bred by Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein, Avignon has now won five times.
The gelding is out of the Var mare Var Countess and is thus bred on the same cross as champions Golden Palm and Tempting Fate.
