Ridgemont Highlands’ young stallion Jackson has been enjoying a fine run of success of late, and the triple G1 winning son of Dynasty was at it again at the Vaal on Thursday.

Jackson’s first crop daughter Scent Of Evening made a smart debut when scoring first time out for trainer Lucky Houdalakis and jockey Craig Zackey.
Bred by Highlands, the 3yo filly stayed on to shed her maiden by a neck when victorious over 1200 metres.
Scent Of Evening was a R275 000 buy from the 2017 Emperors Palace Select Yearling Sale.
She is the second winner in two days for her in-form sire Jackson, whose daughter Heaven’s Embrace won her second race, from just three starts, when scoring over 1600m at Kenilworth yesterday.
Triple G1 winner Jackson, who thrashed dual Horse Of The Year Variety Club and promising young sire Potala Palace when landing the 2012 G1 Investec Cape Derby, is from one of the very best families in the stud book, with his immediate relatives including dual US champion sire Smart Strike and the successful stallions Sky Classic, Strike Smartly and Sail From Seattle.
The son of Dynasty ended the 2017-2018 season as South Africa’s fourth Leading First Crop Sire by winners and he looks on track for an even better year this season.
