Ridgemont Highlands’ five time G1 winning sire Canford Cliffs has been enjoying a good run of success with his runners of late, and the son of Tagula was at it again in Australia on Wednesday.
This time it was his two-year-old son Money Matters who came to the fore with that Canford Cliffs gelding making a winning debut at Belmont Park.

Trained by Adam Durrant, and ridden by William Pike, Money Matters registered a 0.8 of a length win first time out when victorious over 1000m.
Wednesday’s debut winner was produced by the Danehill mare Miz Nicholls.
Canford Cliffs could well be on track for bigger success with his top-class daughter Princess Posh set to contest Saturday’s G1 Sky Racing Tattersall’s Tiara at Eagle Farm.
The Kris Lees trained Princess Posh, who was a cracking second in the G1 TAB Kingsford-Smith Cup last time out, has eight wins to her name (and earnings in excess of AUS $750 000) including the 2018 G3 Yarraman Park Tibbie Stakes and 2019 G3 Suez Newcastle Newmarket Handicap.
