Maine Chance Farms’ multiple G1 winning stallion Erupt came up with his third two-year-old winner in three days when his daughter Pinatubo made a winning debut at Turffontein on Thursday.
Trained by Robyn Klaasen, Pinatubo was well-backed for Tuesday’s Champions Day 6 April Maiden Juvenile Plate (Fillies) (1000m) and she duly lived up to the hype.
Under a positive ride from Kabelo Matsunyane, the two-year-old daughter of Erupt stormed home to score on debut by just over half a length.
Bred by Summerview Stud, Pinatubo is out of the Dynasty mare Transcend.
Pinatubo was a R60 000 purchase from the 2023 August Two Year Old Sale.

The inform Erupt had had a juvenile double at the Vaal on Tuesday when his son Moonlight Trader and daughter Queen Of Fire won the second and third races respectively.
At the time of writing, Erupt had been responsible for six two-year-old winners this season thus far, and the son of Dubawi is currently fifth on South Africa’s Leading Sires of 2YOs premiership.
Also sire of this season’s World Grand Heritage winner Unzen and Listed Pongracz Olympic Duel Stakes winner Ripple Effect, Erupt has five lots on offer at the 2024 National Yearling Sale.
