The Sorrento Stud based Louis The King made a pleasing start with his first crop of runners, now three, and the son of Black Minnaloushe made the perfect crop with his second crop, when the Louis The King sired two-year-old filly Waymaker made a winning debut at Fairview on Friday.

Trained by Gavin Smith, Waymaker ran on smartly to record a length and a quarter first time out win, while scoring over 800m.

Out of the Kildonan mare Sacred Hills, Waymaker was a R30 000 buy from the 2020 Cape Yearling Sale.
The Limestone Thoroughbred Trust bred Waymaker is the first two-year-old runner for Louis The King this season.

The Triple Crown/Summer Cup winning Louis The King’s first crop of runners have already made their mark, with the sire having had just 12 runners (from his first 3yos) thus far, of which seven have either won or finished in the money.

Out of a daughter of Poinsettia Stakes winner Milden Magic, Louis Th e King has six lots on the upcoming Cape Yearling Sale including a colt (Lot 42) whose granddam is a G1 winning daughter of Jet Master, a half-sister (Lot 84) to Jockey Club Stakes winner Bursary, and a colt (Lot 95) whose dam is a half-sister to G1 Rising Sun Gold Challenge winner King Of Pain.
