Varsfontein Stud’s homebred stallion Master Of My Fate is enjoying another fine season in 2022-2023 and the inform son of Jet Master came up with a good-looking debut winner when his daughter Hugsandhighfives won at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Monday.
Trained by Garth Puller, three-year-old Hugsandhighfives caught the eye when storming home to win Monday’s Catch KZN Racing Via Live Streaming On www.galloptv.co.za Maiden Plate (F&M) (1200m).
Under Anthandiwe Mgudlwa, Hugsandhighfives powered home down the outside of the track to win impressively on debut by nearly two lengths.
Bred by Tinus Gericke, Hugsandhighfives is out of the Lecture mare Forest Lecture.
The filly was an R120 000 buy from the 2021 August Two Year Old Sale.
Her G2 Premier Trophy-winning sire is having another great season this year, with Master Of My Fate’s three black-type winners in 2022-2023 including G2 Wilgerbosdrift Gauteng Fillies Guineas winner Lady Of Power.
Currently fourth on the general sires list, Master Of My Fate has 19 lots on offer at this year’s National Yearling Sale including full-siblings to the likes of Equus Champion Tempting Fate, Guineas winner Zapatillas and G1 Jonsson Workwear Garden Province Stakes winner Zarina.
