Maine Chance Farms’ highly successful stallion Querari has been having winners all over South Africa of late, and the G1 winning son of Oasis Dream was at it again on Friday.

This time it was the Querari sired Luna Wish to impress, with that two-year-old filly making a winning debut at Fairview on Friday.
The Bruce le Roux bred Luna Wish stayed on smartly to score a convincing one and a quarter length win first time out over 1000m for trainer Alan Greeff and jockey Teaque Gould.

Out of the Silvano mare Imperial Wish (and thus bred on the same cross as Querari sired stakes winners Cosmic Light, Wonderwall and Joking), Luna Wish was a R40 000 buy from the 2018 National Two Year Old Sale.

The filly is the third 2yo winner for Querari this season, with the latter’s 2yo daughter Mill Queen having scored a courageous win at the Vaal on Thursday.

Querari, who is strongly represented on both the Cape and National Yearling Sales, is enjoying another good season in 2018-2019, with his runners including G2 WSB Premier Trophy winner and millionaire Head Honcho, Listed Michaelmas Handicap winner Warfarer, and the smart 3yo Inexhaustible –who ran subsequent brilliant G1 SA Classic winner Hawwaam to a neck when second in the G3 Tony Ruffel Stakes.
