Under Keagan De Melo, the Gavin Smith trained filly was the object of pre-race betting support and duly lived up to expectations with a five star performance in Friday’s Welcome To Nelson Mandela Bay Racing Juvenile Plate (Fillies) (1000m).

Always handy, Idita bested recent winner Summer Odyssey close home before powering away to win impressively by a length.
It was more than 11 lengths back to third place finisher Jambo Sana.
Bred by Lammerskraal Stud, Idita was a R200 000 buy from the 2022 National Yearling Sale.
She is out of the four time winning Western Winter mare Iditarod, making Idita a full-sister to Listed Racing Association Stakes winner Norton Sound and half-sister to Listed East Cape Oaks queen Widow’s Lamp.
