The Klipdrif Stud based Elusive Fort had a day to remember at Durbanville on Tuesday when his progeny captured the first two races on the card.

Elusive Fort’s 3yo son The Blues kicked off proceedings when making much of the running to shed his maiden by two and a half lengths in Tuesday’s first race,a maiden plate over 1600m.
Trained by Patrick Kruyer, and ridden to victory by Devin Ashby, the Terry Andrews bred gelding had been fourth at his previous outing but proved far too strong for his six rivals.

The Blues’ paternal two-year-old half-sister Elusive Rain showed plenty of courage when she broke her maiden in Tuesday’s second race –a maiden plate for fillies and mares over 1600m. Trained by Candice Bass-Robinson, and ridden to victory by Keagan De Melo, Elusive Rain dug down deep to score a short-head win at the expense of tote favourite Duntouche.
Bred by the Connemara Stud, two-year-old Elusive Rain was produced by the Spectrum mare Rainbow Belle.

An Equus Champion, and triple G1 winner, Elusive Fort has enjoyed another good season in 2018-2019, with his star performers including G3 The Independent Football On Saturday Poinsettia Stakes winner Freedom Charter.

The son of Fort Wood has 12 lots on offer at the 2019 National 2YO Sale, including a colt (Lot 110) whose dam is a half-sister to G1 SA Classic winner English Garden, a filly (Lot 128) out of the stakes placed French Pearl, and a colt (Lot 197) whose dam is a stakes placed daughter of Var.
