Wednesday treble for Master Of My Fate

18th July 2019

Varsfontein Stud’s boom sire Master Of My Fate has enjoyed a tremendous season in 2018-2019, with his progeny firing on all cylinders, and the son of champions Jet Master and Promisefrommyheart had a memorable treble at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Wednesday afternoon.

Twist Of Fate

Master Of My Fate’s Wednesday treble (from three runners!) included two juvenile winners –which took the dual G2 winner’s number of 2yo winners this season to ten.

His two-year-old gelded son Captain Demonami, who holds an entry in the G2 Umkhomazi Stakes, had made his racecourse debut in the Listed Gatecrasher Stakes earlier this season –a sign of the regard he is held in.  After finishing second next time out, Captain Demonami went one better on Wednesday, when the Lezeanne Forbes trained gelding went to post a convincing 0.9 of a length win over 1200 metres.
Bred by the Hemel ‘N Aarde Stud, Captain Demonami was produced by the National Assembly mare National Emergency.

Master Of My Fate’s second two-year-old winner on Wednesday came when his gelded son Knight Warrior put up an eye catching display to score a 3.3 length win  in open company. Dispatched the 12-10 favourite, the Dennis Bosch trained Knight Warrior powered home from well off the pace to shed his maiden impressively, with an emphatic win over 1400 metres.
Yet to finish out of the money in five career starts, the Gary Player Stud bred gelding was a R340 000 buy from the 2018 CTS Ready To Run Sale.

Basadi Faith

Talented three-year-old Triple Fate Line gave Master Of My Fate a 100% strike of winners to runners on Wednesday, when that Robbie/Shannon trained colt made all to justify tote favouritism with a stirring win in the seventh race on the card.  Bred by Varsfontein Stud, Triple Fate Line, given a superb ride from Donovan Dillon, took his tally of wins to three, from just eight starts, when running out a game three-parts of a length winner when victorious over 1600m.
The classy Triple Fate Line had previously caught the eye earlier in the season when he finished third in the G3 Byerley Turk and is clearly a three-year-old packed with ability!

The latest South African bred sire to make a name for himself at stud, Master Of My Fate has made an impressive start to his stud career, with his first two crops having produced the likes of Twist Of Fate, Silverstone Air, Basadi Faith, Gift For The Gap, Driving Miss Daisy, and Master Of Illusion.

Master Of My Fate has an exceptional, 18 strong draft at the 2019 National 2YO Sale, with his two-year-olds on offer including a three-parts brother (Lot 37) to G1 winner Little Miss Magic, a half-sister (Lot 38) to Swallow Stakes winner All At Once, a filly (Lot 198) out of a daughter of champion Night Diva, and a half-sister (Lot 301) to graded stakes winners Badger’s Cove and Princess Peach.
