Highlands Farms Studs, part of Ridgemont,’s outstanding sire Dynasty has enjoyed a magnificent season, once again, in 2016-2017.
The former Horse Of The Year’s nine individual black type winners this season have already won 13 black type races, including the G1 World Sports Betting Cape Fillies Guineas, G2 Wilgerbosdrift Gauteng Fillies Guineas, G1 Maine Chance Farms Paddock Stakes, and Saturday’s G1 Woolavington 2000.
The sire’s great run of form continued mid-week, when Dynasty’s 2yo daughter Lady In Black made a winning debut over 1200m at Scottsville on Wednesday. It was a smart first up effort from Lady In Black, who downed older fillies and mares to win for trainer Dennis Drier and she looks a smart sort in the making.
Bred by Willem Englebrecht JR, Lady In Black was a R1.1 million buy from last year’s National Yearling Sale.
She is the fourth juvenile winner for Dynasty this season, with the sire’s other 2yo winners including G3 Protea Stakes/Listed Storm Bird Stakes winner Barrack Street.
Dynasty will also be represented in Greyville’s feature races this weekend –his G1 winning daughter Just Sensual lines up in the G2 Tibouchina Stakes, while Dynasty sired champion Bela-Bela is a runner in the R1 000 000 G1 Rising Sun Gold Challenge.
