Ascot Stud’s resident Galileo horse Global View looks to have a talented three-year-old to his name this season in the form of Fairy Knight.
The latter made it four wins in a row when he won the Listed East Cape Guineas (1600m) run at Fairview on Friday afternoon.
Victorious in the Listed Ibhayi Stakes at his previous start, the Alan Greeff-trained Fairy Knight justified tote favouritism with a convincing display in Friday’s Listed feature.
Under Richard Fourie, the gelded Fairy Knight powered home to hold off Zil Moris and score by a length and a quarter.
Bred by Ascot Stud, Fairy Knight has now won six of 12 starts, with the three-year-old having also finished runner-up in all of the Listed East Cape Nursery, Listed Champion Juvenile Cup and Listed Racehorse Owners Association Stakes.
Out of the Lecture mare Fairy Queen, Fairy Knight was a R120 000 purchase from the 2022 National Yearling Sale.

His dual graded stakes winning sire also enjoyed success at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth the following day, where Global View gelding Aspect made it three wins in a row when victorious in the seventh race on the card.

Global View, South Africa’s Leading First Season Sire of 2019-2020, has four lots on offer at the 2024 National Yearling Sale including a half-sister (Lot 97) to G1 Premier’s Champions Challenge winner Coral Fever.
