FENCING MASTER by Oratorio out of a Group1 winning mare was 2nd in the European Championship Class Dewhurst Stakes for Juveniles (Group 1) at Newmarket by a neck after a difficult run round traffic. A winer for Ballydoyle, he is now a handsome stallion standing at Hemel ‘n Aarde Stud near Hermanus under the management of AllanBloodlines.
His owner Colin Bird has always been keen to help Zimbabwe racing and breeding so he stood him there for a couple of seasons before moving him to South Africa. The results have included imported SA winners and Feature Winners back in Zim – including, yesterday, the winner of the Zimbabwe Derby SOLINKSI a filly bred by Sarahdane Stud, trained by Kirk Swanson and ridden by Karl Zechner.
SOLINKSI had already won a Grade 3 – the same rating as the Zim Derby – and a Listed race plus her maiden. SA trainers such as Glenn Kotzen, Gavin van Zyl, Roy Magner, Robbie Sage, Yvette Bremner and recently Darryl Hodgson are pleased with their FENCING MASTERs, of which more will be offered at the National 2 Year Old Sale in August.
Breeders may consider hedging their 2017 bets by using FENCING MASTER – a high class international horse with proven Southern African results, standing at the low fee of R 10,000 + VAT with the “AllanStallions Scale of Fees” for multiple bookings.
