Kingmambo’s half-brother Judpot was represented by a quartet of winners over the past weekend, with his runners scoring at three different racecourses.
The Judpot four-timer kicked off when his Alan Greeff trained daughter Remember This won a novice plate over 1300m at Fairview on Friday.
Bred and owned by the Fosters, the four-year-old Remember This dug down to defeat favourite, and Champion Juvenile Cup third, March Music by a neck.
Out of the Al Mufti mare Sostanza (and thus closely inbred to Lassie Dear), Remember This is from the same family as Gold Cup winner Cereus.
Judpot, whose son Kapteinspandiseile (also out of an Al Mufti mare) won over 1500m at Champ De Mars on Saturday, also had a notable double at Durbanville on Saturday afternoon.
The son of legendary sire A P Indy is the sire of both Cohiba Allday (who won the first race) and Expedite (who won race four).
Bred by Klawervlei Stud, Cohiba Allday shed her maiden when scoring over 2000m for trainer Brett Crawford and jockey Corne Orfer, while her paternal half-sister Expedite picked up the second win of her career when scoring for trainer Glen Kotzen.
Their sire Judpot (only represented by four runners at Durbanville this weekend) was also responsible for the second race’s runner up Strawberry Wine and Power Girl, who ran second and fourth in the second race at Durbanville.
Judpot, whose four-time G1 winning close relative Alpha Centauri was retired after finishing second in Saturday’s G1 Coolmore Fastnet Rock Matron Stakes, has made an excellent start to the 2018-2019 season. The half-brother to two French classic winners has been represented by six winners over the from Thursday to Saturday.
A former Equus Outstanding Stallion, Judpot has just one lot on November’s Ready To Run Sale – a colt (bred like the sire’s G1 winner Forest Indigo) out of a winning own sister to multiple G1 winner Forest Path (Lot 110).
