Gary and Jackie Joliffe’s Golden Touch Thoroughbred Services are proud to offer four quality yearlings at this month’s Cape Premier Yearling Sale –which takes place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on January 23rd.

Based at the Nutfield Stud just outside Paarl, the Joliffes have been involved in producing numerous high class runners over the years, with their graduates including such G1 winners as Chestnuts ‘N Pearls, Imperious Star and Guiness.
The latter, the winner of the 2014 G1 Gold Medallion –beating champion Carry On Alice, is a half-brother to Oratorio filly Flame Lily –who sells as Lot 204 at the 2019 Cape Premier Yearling Sale.
By the same sire as top class fillies Banchee, Temida, Cherry Collect, Orator’s Daughter and Viztoria, Flame Lily is a half-sister to not only the talented Guiness but also to eight time winner November Rain. Like legendary unbeaten champion Personal Ensign, Flame Lily is a direct descendant of the mare Dorine.
Golden Touch will also be offering three lots by Cartier Champion and the increasingly successful stallion Duke Of Marmalade –whose first South African crop include such high class stakes winners as Temple Grafin and Princess Irene.
The first of these is Earl (Lot 48), a colt, and half-brother to 3 winners, whose winning Fort Wood sired dam is a ¾ sister to Equus Champion and successful sire Elusive Fort, from the immediate family of current high class galloper Elusive Silva.

Duke Of Marmalade filly Madame Seville (Lot 151) is a daughter of G2 Sceptre Stakes winner Reflective Image –whose own dam is the talented stakes performer Velvet’s Image, while Duke Of Marmalade daughter Sovereign Rose (Lot 154) is an impeccably bred filly whose winning dam (by world leading broodmare sire Spectrum) is a half-sister to Equus Champion and globetrotting star Soft Falling Rain.
The latter, like Duke Of Marmalade, was sired by a Danzig line stallion, which makes Sovereign Rose, a full-sister to the well regarded winner Duchess of Bourbon, bred on very similar lines indeed to Soft Falling Rain.
