The Andre Nel trained four-year-old, under Serino Moodley, came with a late rattle to claim the Cup Trial by nearly three-parts of a length.
Bred by Maine Chance Farms, and owned by Sabine Plattner, Zeitz was making it back to back wins, with the Vercingetorix gelding having won his previous start over 1400.
Out of the Redoute’s Choice mare Zappy Choice, Zeitz has won five of 16 starts, with his wins including triumphs in both the 2025 G3 City Of Cape Town Politician Stakes and 2025 Listed Premier Gateway International Thukela Handicap.
Vercingetorix, set to be crowned South Africa’s Champion Sire for a second year running, has two lots on offer at the KZN Yearling Sale.
