Wilgerbosdrift’s bang inform sire Flower Alley has been in tremendous form of late, and the son of Distorted Humor was at it again on Monday, when the former G1 Travers Stakes winner came up with two smart winners at Hollywoodbets Greyville.
Flower Alley’s first success on Monday came when his son Iron Bark captured the second race at Greyville, the Gold Circle Racing Youtube Channel MR 70 Handicap (1000m).
Under Anthandiwe Mgudlwa, the four-year-old was always up with the pace and Iron Bark kept finding more in the closing stages to score by just over half a length.
Trained by Gareth Van Zyl, Iron Bark has now won four times from 19 starts.
Bred by Dr Ian Heyns, Iron Bark is out of the Var mare Heritage Wood.
Flower Alley is also sire of the smart gelding Syx Hotfix, who caught the eye when victorious in the fourth race, the Follow In The Box Seat Podcast MR 74 Handicap (1700m).
Under Keagan De Melo, the Alyson Wright trained gelding claimed his third win when storming home to score by nearly a length.
Bred by Moutonshoek, Syx Hotfix is out of the Jallad mare Kiss For Kate.
Flower Alley, currently sixth on the general sires list, has five lots on offer at the upcoming November Two Year Old Sale.
