Ascot Stud’s G1 winning stallion Heavenly Blue looks to have come up with a very exciting two-year-old in the form of Truth this season.
The latter, a member of his sire’s second crop, made it two wins from two starts with a devastating performance at Turffontein on Saturday.
Under Gavin Lerena, Candice Dawson trained Truth turned Saturday’s Play Soccer 6,10 and 13 Juvenile Plate (1400m) into a one-horse race.
Truth simply cantered home, drawing off to win by seven and a quarter lengths and he looks to be a feature race contender.
Bred by the Tawny Syndicate, Truth had won his only previous start when winning by four and a quarter lengths over 1160 metres.
The exciting colt is out of the Frankel mare Frankly. Truth is one of several promising two-year-olds for his sire this year, with Heavenly Blue’s current crop of juveniles also including Happy Holly, runner-up in the Listed East Cape Fillies Nursery and Listed Dahlia Plate.
Heavenly Blue, whose first crop includes Listed Lady’s Pendant winner Three Rocks, has a single lot on offer at the upcoming Cape Racing Winter Yearling Sale -a filly (Lot 100) whose dam won four and ran second in the Listed East Cape Breeders Stakes.
