Drakenstein Stud’s champion sire Trippi enjoyed success in Hong Kong on Wednesday, when his G1 winning son Lobo’s Legend saluted at Happy Valley.

Bred by Klawervlei Stud, Lobo’s Legend picked up his first Hong Kong win when he landed Wednesday’s Belcher Bay Handicap over six furlongs.
Under jockey Neil Callan, six-year-old Lobo’s Legend stayed on to score by half a length.
Second three times in Hong Kong last season, Lobo’s Legend is out of the Western Winter mare Gone Wild.
The gelding was a top-class campaigner in South Africa, where Lobo’s Legend won or placed in five of just six starts and won the 2018 G1 SA Classic.
His sire Trippi, Champion Sire in South Africa in 2015-2016, has a single lot on offer at this week’s Emperors Palace National 2YO Sale -a colt (Lot 103) whose stakes placed dam is a half-sister to the dam of G3 Champion Juvenile Cup winner O Tamara.
Trippi has four lots on the CTS Ready To Run, Unbroken 2 Year Old & Mixed Sale, including a colt (Lot 59) out of a dual G1 winning daughter of Dubawi.
