Varsfontein Stud’s red hot stallion Gimmethegreenlight has an exceptional crop of 3yos this season and the 2012 G1 L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate winner looks to have another above average sophomore in the form of In The Dance.
The latter, who is bred and owned by the Lammerskraal Stud, made a stunning winning debut at Turffontein on Saturday.
Despite being slow away, In The Dance was far too classy for her rivals and romped home to win first time out by 3.5 lengths over 1160m for trainer Sean Tarry and jockey S’manga Khumalo.
Out of the Fort Wood mare Akinfeet, In The Dance is bred on the same cross as Gimmethegreenlight’s graded stakes winners Green Pepper and Hack Green.
Other exciting 3yos for Gimmethegreenlight this season include G2 Durban Golden Horseshoe winner Barahin, National Park (first past the post in the Listed Champion Juvenile Cup) and Golden Horseshoe third and fourth place finishers Sulka and Crown Guardian.
South Africa’s Champion First Crop Sire of 2015-2016, Gimmethegreenlight has ten lots on offer at this week’s National Two Year Old Sale.
