Drakenstein Stud’s prominent young sire One World came up with a smart looking debut winner at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Wednesday.
His two-year-old son Rich Man’s World made the perfect start to his career when he won the Hollywoodbets Kenilworth Welcomes You Maiden Juvenile Plate (1000m).
Under Richard Fourie, the Vaughan Marshall trained colt went out to race prominently.
Fourie kept Rich Man’s World going in the closing stages, and the pair stayed on strongly to post a convincing two length win.
His trainer described Rich Man’s World as a “very special horse” in the post race interview and he looks to have a bright future.
Bred by the Boland Stud, Rich Man’s World was a R450 000 buy from the 2025 National Yearling Sale.
The colt, who is bred on the same One World/Silvano cross as champion One Stripe, is out of the Silvano mare Sommersonne.
Rich Man’s World races for Messrs R L Gabler & K P Truter & Mesdames C L Gabler & Jane Truter.
His G1 Sun Met winning sire One World is set to be represented by his son Better Man in Saturday’s G1 Lucky Fish Cape Derby.
The son of Captain Al, and Leading First and Second Season Sire of his year, has three lots on offer at the Cape Yearling Sale, and 12 lots on offer at the Premier Yearling Sale.
