Impressive debut winner for Visionaire

18th Mar 2018

Lammerskraal Stud’s successful sire Visionaire’s good run of success continued over the weekend when his two-year-old son In Cahoots made a winning debut at Turffontein on Saturday.

Visionaire

The Summerhill Stud bred colt impressed when landing a juvenile plate, first time out, when scoring a 1.25 length, under the urgings of Lyle Hewitson.

In Cahoots is trained by Sean Tarry, who also handles Visionaire’s high class graded stakes winners Africa Rising and Heaps Of Fun.

The colt, a R150 000 buy from the 2017 KZN Yearling Sale, was produced by the Kingmambo mare Deceptive Charm.

He is the second South African 2yo winner for Visionaire this season, with the sire’s Mr Bombastic having scored impressively at Greyville recently.

Visionaire has made a superb start to his South African stud book, with two of his first three local crops producing Fillies Guineas winners!
Heaps Of Fun, winner of the 2016 G2 Wilgerbosdrift Gauteng Guineas is a member of his first South African crop, while Takingthepeace (winner of the 2018 Gauteng Fillies Guineas) is a member of Visionaire’s current 3yo crop.

Winner of the G1 King’s Bishop Stakes and G3 Gotham Stakes, Visionaire was South Africa’s Leading First Crop Sire of 2014-2015 and the country’s Leading Second Crop Sire of 2015-2016.
