Impressive weekend double for Querari

27th Feb 2017

Maine Chance Farms’ exciting young stallion Querari continues to make waves in South Africa, and the G1 winning son of Oasis Dream was at it again this weekend.

Querari was represented by a pair of very smart looking winners over the past few days, with the La Plaisance bred gelding Q The Music waltzing home to break his maiden, at just the second time of asking, by 1.75 lengths over 1200m at Scottsville on Sunday.
The lightly raced Q The Music looks to have the scope to improve from here –and he is yet another promising Querari offspring for the La Plaisance team, who also bred Querari’s very smart looking son Kampala Campari.

The latter has won two of just three outings to date, and is held in high regard by connections.

However, the cherry on the cake for Querari this past weekend was the devastating performance that his 2yo daughter Made In Hollywood put on at Kenilworth on Saturday.
Made In Hollywood (who had finished third first time out to the impressive Snowdance) outclassed her nine rivals to win by six and a quarter lengths –an all but unheard of margin over 1200m!

Bred by Dr Ian Heyns, Made In Hollywood was a R450 000 purchase from last year’s Emperors Palace Select Yearling Sale.

Querari has made a sensational start to his stud career, with his first crop yielding the graded winners Cosmic Light and Kangaroo Jack and his second the G1 Thekwini Stakes winning Querari Falcon.
