Gelykfontein’s G1 winning stallion Visionaire was responsible for a feature race winner at Borrowdale Park on Sunday.
His gelded son Jet Miratge captured the Listed MWOS Ipi Tombe Stakes (1600m) when holding on gamely to score by half a length.
Trainer Debra Swanson and jockey Jeffery Syster were in fine form, and this was their fourth winner on Sunday. Sadly, Syster will soon be moving to the United Kingdom.
Bred by Lammerskraal Stud, Jet Mirage is out of the Jet Master mare Barega.
The gelding has now won seven times in all, with Jet Mirage having also captured the Gold Cup Sprint back in December.
He is one of 11 stakes winners for his G1 King’s Bishop Stakes winning sire Visionaire, with the latter crowned South Africa’s Leading First Season Sire of 2015-2016.
