Former Equus Champion Along Came Polly, a daughter of Varsfontein Stud’s resident sire Judpot, is set to be represented at the 2018 Keeneland September Yearling Sale.
Along Came Polly has a chestnut colt on offer (Lot 2496) from the second crop of US champion Will Take Charge (by Unbridled’s Song). The latter, North America’s Champion 3YO Colt of 2013, won six races including both the G1 Clark Handicap and G1 Travers Stakes and retired to stud with earnings of more than $3.9 million.
A half-brother to Florida Derby and successful sire Take Charge Indy, Will Take Charge is out of the multiple G1 winning Dehere mare Take Charge Lady.
The colt on sale is Along Came Polly’s second registered foal, with her first an unraced 2yo.
South Africa’s Equus Champion 2YO Filly of 2013, Along Came Polly won both the G1 Thekwini and G1 Empress Club Stakes and won or placed in a total of six G1 races.
Her sire Judpot enjoyed plenty of success last season, with the son of A P Indy responsible for all of G1 Premier’s Champions Challenge winner Coral Fever, Post Merchants hero Sniper Shot and the promising filly Nous Voila.
Judpot, a half-brother to 2 French classic winners –notably outstanding sire Kingmambo, has been responsible for stakes winners in each of his first five crops, with his black type winners including other G1 winners Forest Indigo and Juxtapose.
