Varsfontein Stud’s successful resident sire Judpot has enjoyed a good spell lately with his 2yos, and the son of A P Indy was represented by a memorable juvenile double at the Vaal on Tuesday.
Let It Flow, a 2yo filly bred by The Alchemy, was the first of the Judpot juveniles to score yesterday.
Making her third racetrack appearance, the filly dug down deep to deny three well bred first timers.
Let It Flow, who is bred on the same Judpot/Model Man cross as Equus Champion and dual G1 winner Along Came Polly, was a R100 000 buy from last year’s National Yearling Sale.
With Let It Flow winning Tuesday’s second race, another Judpot 2yo was back in the winners box following the running of race three. This time it was the turn of the Terry Andrews bred Down To Zero, who made all to score by a comfortable 1.5 lengths over 1200m. Third at his previous two outings, Down To Zero was a R220 000 purchase from last year’s March Yearling Sale.
Former Equus Outstanding Stallion Judpot has now been represented by 11 two-year-old winners this season, including impressive debut winner Aurora Australis.
Also sire of this season’s high class fillies Bi Pot and Polyphonic, Judpot will be represented by four yearlings at this month’s KZN Yearling Sale.
