Highlands Stud part of Ridgemont’s G1 winning young sire Pathfork has enjoyed good success with his two-year-olds this season and enjoyed a quick juvenile double recently, with daughters Madame Speaker and Raving Rocket winning their respective races.
Runner up in the Listed East Cape Fillies Nursery at her previous outing, the Alan Greeff trained Madame Speaker romped home to break her maiden by six and a half lengths, over 1200m, at Fairview on Friday.
Out of the National Assembly mare Word Perfect, Madame Speaker has now won or placed in each of her three outings to date.
Her paternal half-sister Raving Rocket justified favouritism when breaking her maiden over 1000m on Monday. The Favour Stud bred and owned filly has now won or been second in three of her four career starts.
Pathfork, who was Ireland’s Champion 2YO Colt of 2010, has now been represented by four two-year-old winners, from eight juvenile starters, this season thus far.
His 2yo winners include impressive debut winner Mr Flood and recent eye catching winner Go The Distance.
The champion son of Distorted Humor will be represented by five lots at next week’s Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale, including a half-brother to G3 Strelitzia Stakes winner Neptune’s Rain (Lot 71).
