His son Join The Dots got off the mark at just the second time of asking when he won the Cape Turf Club Syndicates Maiden Plate (1600m) on Wednesday.

Vercingetorix was also responsible for the third-place finishers in both the G1 World Pool Cape Flying Championship and G1 City Of Cape Town Majorca Stakes on Saturday.
Yet another son of the stallion, The Grey King, confirmed his status as an up-and-coming three-year-old when he ran second in Saturday’s G3 Schweppes Politician Stakes.
