The family of the Cheveley Stud bred and based Horse Of The Year Legislate proved very popular at the recent Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.
Not only did Legislate’s full-brother make R2 200 000, but another Dynasty colt from the family of Legislate made R900 000 to the bid of Form Bloodstock.

Catalogued as lot 54, Legislate’s full-brother (Dynasty-Champers) was knocked down to Nick Jonsson for R2 200 000 –making the Cheveley Stud bred colt the fourth top colt sold off the 2019 National Sale.
Legislate’s close relative Lion’s Head (Lot 198) also found favour when sold for R900 000 –out of the stakes placed Trippi mare Se Agabor, this Drakenstein Stud bred colt hails from the immediate family of Legislate himself.

One of the most brilliant sons of four times Equus Champion Stallion Dynasty currently at stud in South Africa, the record breaking Legislate was a four time Equus Champion, and South Africa’s Horse Of The Year in 2013-2014.

The handsome bay won seven times, earning over R5.7 million in stakes in the process, with Legislate’s six graded victories including the G1 Vodacom Durban July, G1 Rising Sun Gold Challenge, G1 Investec Cape Derby and G1 Daily News 2000.

Legislate made headlines earlier this year, when a colt from his first crop was the top colt sold at the 2019 Cape Yearling Sale.
