Lucky Fish Winter Fillies Stakes success for Canford Cliffs

21st June 2026

Ridgemont’s five time G1 winning stallion Canford Cliffs has enjoyed a fine few days this past week.
On Friday, Canford Cliffs mare Song Of Myself captured the East Cape Breeders Stakes (1200m) at Fairview , while the following day saw Canford Cliffs daughter Jazz Cafe win the G3 Lucky Fish Winter Fillies Stakes (2400m) at Hollywoodbets Greyville.

In the process, Jazz Cafe became her sire’s 32nd stakes winner.

Trained by Robbie Hill, five-year-old Jazz Cafe made a mockery of her 40-1 starting price with her win inSaturday’s G3 feature.
Under the inform Rachel Venniker, Jazz Cafe raced at the back of the field early on the Winter Fillies Stakes. The daughter of Canford Cliffs powered home down the outside of the course and got up to win by a neck.

Bred by James Armitage, Jazz Cafe races for Messrs G L O’Brien, S Lotter, S J J Smith & M U Tayob.
Out of the Kitalpha mare French Pearl, Jazz Cafe has won five of 18 starts.

Her Irish classic winning sire Canford Cliffs has had another good season in 2025-2026, with the son of rTagula’s other flagbearers including such graded stakes winners as Miami Mountain (G3TAB National Currency Sprint) and Tag And Release (G3 Winter Nursery).
