Mambo In Seattle filly bred to be Special!

29th May 2017

Boland Stud are proud to offer lot 266 at the upcoming KZN Yearling Sale, which takes place at Sibaya Casino on June 29th and 30th.

Lot 266

This classically bred filly is a daughter of Mambo In Seattle, a stakes winner and G1 Travers Stakes runner up brother in blood to US champion and prominent sire Lemon Drop Kid.

Mambo In Seattle, whose dam is a full-sister to hugely influential US champion sire A P Indy, is a well established sire whose best includes exported dual G1 winning filly Same Jurisdiction, and the high class stakes winners Mambo Mime, Smart Mart and Fortune Fella.

His daughter out of Jet Princess (by Jet Master) is a very well related filly. She is out of a lightly raced own sister to Singapore G2 winner Thundering Jet, whose local victories included the G3 Matchem Stakes.

Jet Princess, whose siblings include six other winners, is from a top class international family and is directly descended from the great mare Kong. Kong, who won the important Wokingham Handicap, was an outstanding broodmare, whose offspring include 2000 Guineas winner Nimbus and G2 Richmond Stakes winner and outstanding sire Grey Sovereign.

Same Jurisdiction

This is also the family of champion SA sprinter Sunera and graded winners Something Else and Double Whammy.

Seven times champion sire Jet Master is a rapidly emerging broodmare sire of note. To date,  the son of Rakeen is damsire of the likes of Edict Of Nantes (G1 Investec Cape Derby), Green Plains (G2 SA Fillies Nursery), Exit Here (G3 Cup Trial), Silvano’s Jet (G2 Gold Circle Derby), Here Comes Billy (G2 Merchants), Rivarine (G3 Lebelo Sprint) and Summer Angel (G3 Umzimkhulu Stakes).
