Master Of My Fate filly lands Breeders Guineas

1st Mar 2025

Varsfontein Stud’s homebred stallion Master Of My Fate looks to have come up with another high-class filly in the form of Splicethemainbrace.
The latter made it nine wins from just 11 starts when she won the Listed Breeders Guineas run at Fairview on Friday.
An impressive winner of her two starts leading into Friday’s 1600m contest, the Alan Greeff-trained Splicethemainbrace was a 5-10 favourite for the 2025 Breeders Guineas.
Under regular rider Richard Fourie, the three-year-old raced keenly off a slow pace, before Splicethemainbrace hit the front 200m from home.
From there, the favourite cleared away to win a shade cosily by a length and a quarter.
Bred by Varsfontein Stud, Splicethemainbrace has won four Listed races, with the filly having prevailed in all of the Listed East Cape Fillies Nursery, Listed East Cape Nursery and Listed Lady’s Slipper Stakes last season.
Splicethemainbrace, out of the Sail From Seattle mare Summer Cruise, was a R200 000 buy from the 2023 August Two Year Old Sale.
She is one of 28 stakes winners for her inform sire Master Of My Fate, who is also responsible for this season’s G1 Betway Summer Cup winner Atticus Finch.
The son of Jet Master has ten lots on offer at the Premier Yearling Sale and a further 20 yearlings on offer at the National Yearling Sale.
