Master Of My Fate filly romps to Lady’s Slipper win

30th May 2025

Varsfontein Stud’s homebred stallion Master Of My Fate looks to have a top-class filly to his name in the form of Golden Palm.
The latter made it three wins from four starts when she romped home to a ten length win in Friday’s Listed Lady’s Slipper Stakes (1400m) at Fairview.
Under Richard Fourie, the Alan Greeff trained Golden Palm hit the front 200m from home and drew off to win as she liked.
Bred by Varsfontein Stud, the two-year-old has won her last three starts including the G2 Wilgerbosdrift SA Fillies Nursery.
Golden Palm is out of the Var mare Croisette and is thus bred on the same Master Of My Fate/Var cross as champion Tempting Fate.
Friday’s winner is one of six two-year-old winners this season thus far for Master Of My Fate.
This tally also includes Listed East Cape Fillies Nursery/Listed Dahlia Plate winner Anotherdanceforme.
