Master Of My Fate -firing on all cylinders

4th March 2022

Varsfontein Stud’s red hot resident stallion Master Of My Fate is enjoying another wonderful season in 2021-2022 and currently is South Africa’s Leading Sire of Winners and races won for the current season.

The strapping son of Jet Master, and close relative of Varsfontein’s popular young stallion Erik The Red, continues to churn out the winners, with Master Of My Fate coming up with another three winners at Hollywoodbets Greyville this week.

Master Of My Fate supplied a pair of winners at Greyville’s Monday meeting, with his daughters Antico Amore and Angel Of Justice victorious in the first and last races respectively.

The Varsfontein sire enjoyed further success at Greyville on Wednesday, when his son Camora won the eighth and final race on the card for Tony Rivalland and Rachel Venniker. Bred by Piemonte Stud, Camora was winning for a second time, with the gelding having finished second, over 1400m last time out.

Master Of My Fate’s current statistic of siring three G1 winners early in his stud career, compares favourably to the late, great Captain Al, with the latter having come up with a single top-level winner at a similar stage.

South Africa’s second Leading Sire by Stakes in 2020-2022, Master Of My Fate also has a very exciting crop of two-year-olds representing him this season.

Currently third on the Leading Sires of 2YOs premiership, by stakes earned, Master Of My Fate has already come up with five two-year-old winners, who have won six races, this season.
Among his two-year-olds to catch the eye this season are unbeaten filly Strike A Match, and debut winners Power Broker and Street Outlaw, while his promising daughter Miss Marguerite caught the eye when finishing second in the BSA Cape Yearling Sale Cup while making her debut on Jonsson Workwear Cape Derby day.
