Varsfontein Stud’s bang inform homebred stallion Master Of My Fate has made a flying start to the 2022-2023 South African racing season and the son of Jet Master had another good pay day when the Master Of My Fate gelding Sea Master captured the Listed PinkDrive Michaelmas Handicap (1900m) at Hollywoodbets Greyville.
The 2022 Michaelmas Handicap was a great result for Master Of My Fate, who is also the sire of the fourth home Master Of Destiny.
Bred by Varsfontein, five-year-old Sea Master powered home under S’Manga Khumalo to win as he liked by nearly a length and a half for trainer Carl Hewitson.
Out of the Spectrum mare Subyan Dreams, Sea Master has now won five times, with the gelding having now won his last three in a row.
Sea Master is the 17th stakes winner for Master Of My Fate, who is currently fourth on the general sires list for the current season.
Master Of My Fate had also enjoyed success at Turffontein the day before when his son Fast Love (also out of a mare by Spectrum) claimed the ninth and final race on the card.
Closely related to such popular young sires as Erik The Red and Malmoos, Master Of My Fate has three lots on sale at the upcoming Cape Racing Ready To Run & 2YO Unbroken Sale and a further ten lots on offer at the 2022 November Two Year Old Sale.
