Mining Pressure Systems East Cape Sprint Cup glory for Global View

21st Mar 2025

Ascot Stud’s resident stallion Global View made headlines at Fairview on Friday. His four-year-old son Fairy Knight made it three wins in a row when he won the Listed Mining Pressure Systems East Cape Sprint Cup (1200m) on Friday.
One of four winners on the day for the Alan Greeff/Richarrd Fourie combination, Fairy Knight raced up with the pace in Friday’s race. The gelding stormed home to win by a length and a quarter.
It was a third Listed win for Fairy Knight, with the son of Global View having won the 2024 Listed Ibhayi Stakes and 2024 Listed East Cape Guineas.
The gelding has won ten of 18 starts, with Friday’s win taking Fairy Knight’s earnings to over R930 000.
Bred by Ascot Stud, Fairy Knight was a R120 000 buy from the 2022 National Yearling Sale.
Fairy Knight is out of the Lecture mare Fairy Queen, and he has a Heavenly Blue half-brother on offer at the 2025 National Yearling Sale.
His multiple graded stakes winning sire Global View, whose progeny include reigning South African Horse Of The Year Dave The King, was South Africa’s Leading First Season Sire of 2019-2020.
