Maine Chance Farms’ increasingly prominent sire Vercingetorix has had an outstanding season in 2020-2021, and the champion son of Silvano was responsible for yet another double at Holllywoodbets Greyville on Monday.

Vercingetorix’s first success at the Monday meeting came when his promising two-year-old son Conquer The Enemy ran out a convincing winner of the first race, the Download The Race Card Online www.goldcircle.co.za Juvenile Plate (1600m).
Under Donovan Dillon, the Vercingetorix colt hit the wire running hard while scoring by a length and a half for trainer Peter Muscutt.

Bred, like Vercingetorix, by Klawervlei Stud, Conquer The Enemy has now won or placed in three of four starts, with the colt having contested the Listed Cell C Sharks Gatecrasher Stakes on just his second start.

Out of the Black Minnaloushe mare Jennyanydots, Conquer The Enemy is the 18th two-year-old winner for Vercingetorix in 2020-2021.

Vercingetorix’s second success on Monday came when his son Higher Purpose won the sixth race, the Call Now! Or play online www.trackandball.co.za MR 68 handicap (1400m).
Trained by Dennis Bosch, gelded three-year-old Higher Purpose went out to make the running and found more in the closing stages to score by nearly half a length.

Bred by Dr Ian Heyns, Higher Purpose had finished second in each of his two previous starts.
