10th Feb 2017

Ascot Stud’s homebred sire Bold Silvano has enjoyed a good start to his stud career, and his current crop of 2yos continue to fire this week.

The 2010 G1 Vodacom Durban July winner was represented by another eye catching two-year-old winner at Fairview on Friday when his daughter Hot N Hazy made a stylish winning debut over 1000m.

Trained by Alan Greeff, Hot N Hazy put a length between herself and favourite Joking to register a first out win under recent Met winning jockey Greg Cheyne.

Hot N Hazy’s sire Bold Silvano, whose first crop of runners including talented G2 performer Bold Rex, has been represented by  just six two-year-old runners this season, but four have won or finished in the money and they include impressive R1 000 000 Kuda Sprint hero Bold Respect (whose two wins from three outings have netted him R690 000 in stakes) and debut winner Pure Fiction.

Bred by the Ascot Stud, Bold Silvano’s latest 2yo winner is out of the Way West mare Hot Girl, a stakes placed winner of four.
