Varsfontein Stud’s promising homebred stallion Erik The Red came up with his ninth first crop winner on Sunday.
His two-year-old son Little Boy Blue made the perfect start to his racing career when making a winning debut at Hollywoodbets Scottsville.

Trained by Peter Muscutt, LittleBoy Blue was given a fine ride by Jabu Jacobs in the Royal Natal Carbineers Maiden Juvenile Plate (1000m).
The pair powered home to get up and win by nearly half a length.

Bred by Ditro Bloodstock, Little  Boy Blue is out of the Querari mare Made In Hollywood.

His multiple graded stakes winning sire Erik The Red, winner of six of just ten starts,  has made a fine start to his stud career.

By the same sire as One World, and closely related to Master Of My Fate, Erik The Red is South Africa’s Leading First Season Sire for 2024-2025.
