OK Grand Challenge triumph for Elusive Fort

6th June 2022

Black Swan Stud’s triple G1 winning sire Elusive Fort came up with yet another feature race winner this season when his daughter Seven Seas won the OK Grand Challenge at Borrowdale Park on Saturday afternoon.

Under Nathan Klink, the Gokhan Terzi trained five-year-old showed tremendous heart with Seven Seas getting up to land the prestigious OK Grand Challenge (1800m) by a nose over valiant runner up True Beauty.

Bred by Digteby Stud, Seven Seas was claiming her first black type win, with the Elusive Fort mare having finished fifth over 1200 metres last time out.

Out of the Argonaut mare Seven Sails, Seven Seas is bred on the same Elusive Fort/Argonaut cross as the graded stakes winning siblings Big Burn and Catch Twentytwo.

Now a five time winner, Seven Seas is the 16th stakes winner for her sire Elusive Fort, whose son Kommetdieding won this season’s G1 WSB Cape Town Met.

Also responsible for this season’s graded stakes winning fillies Big Burn and Sprinkles, Elusive Fort has a single lot on offer at the upcoming CTS Farm Yearling Sale, and one colt on sale at this year’s KZN Yearling Sale.
