Drakenstein Stud’s prominent young stallion One World looks to have come up with another star in the form of Rich Man’s World.
The latter made it three wins from three starts when running out a hugely impressive winner of the G3 Tote Godolphin Barb Stakes (1100m) at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Wednesday.
Trained, like his sire, by Vaughan Marshall, Rich Man’s World had won his only two starts prior to the Godolphin Barb by an aggregate of more than seven lengths, and he duly impressed in his victory on Wednesday.
Under Richard Fourie, the One World colt pulled further and further clear of his rivals in the Godolphin Barb Stakes, with Rich Man’s World going on to post a seven and a half length win in Wednesday’s contest.
Owned by Mr and Mrs Gabler in partnership with Ken and Jane Truter, Rich Man’s World was bred by Boland Stud.
Out of the Silvano mare Sommersonne (and bred on the same cross as globetrotting champion One Stripe), Rich Man’s World was a R450 000 buy from the 2025 National Yearling Sale.
A likely contender for the G1 Gold Medallion, Rich Man’s World joins the likes of Listed TAB Storm Bird Stakes winner World Attraction as stakes winning two-year-olds for One World this season.
One World’s champion son One Stripe continues to catch the eye in the US, with the bay having finished second in both the G1 Pegasus World Cup Turf Invitational Stakes and G1 Maker’s Mark Mile Stakes this year.
