Maine Chance Farms champion and G1 sire Querari looks to have a strong crop of 3yos this year.
To date, Querari’s sophomores include no fewer than five black type performers including impressive Ruffian Stakes winner Dagmar and G3 Gagasi FM The Debutante runner up Arianos Shadow.
Another hugely promising 3yo representing Querari this season is the unbeaten Andre Nel trained colt Pleasedtomeetyou.
The latter, a colt bred by La Plaisance, made it two wins from as many outings when scoring a courageous victory in the Listed Sophomore Sprint at Durbanville on Saturday. Given a forceful ride by Bernard Fayd’Herbe, Pleasedtomeetyou dug down deep to beat the progressive looking Elusive Trader by a neck in Saturday’s 1250m Listed contest.
Out of the Fort Wood mare Plaisir De Fete, Pleasedtomeetyou had impressed on debut by winning first time out by three lengths over 1000m at Kenilworth.
He was one of two winners over the weekend for his sire Querari. The latter is also responsible for Querari Viking, who made it win number four when scoring a facile one and three quarter length win at Fairview on Friday.
Other impressive recent winners for Querari include Angel’s Trumpet and Grand Heritage hopeful Rings And Things.
A son of outstanding sire Oasis Dream (also responsible for 2018 G1 winners Pretty Pollyanna and Polydream), Querari is out of the outstanding, stakes winning Acatenango mare Quetena. The latter, a daughter of German 1000 Guineas winner Quebrada, is also dam of G3 winning sire Quasillo and the brilliant racemare Quidura –winner of the 2018 Woodford Reserve Ballston Spa Stakes.
This is also the family of current smart Irish 3yo Giuseppe Garibaldi who ran second in Saturday’s G3 Paddy’s Rewards Club Stakes.
