Maine Chance Farms’ perennially successful sire Querari looks to have a well above average two-year-old to his name in the form of Baltic Secret. The latter made a smashing debut when romping home to a facile first-out win at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Wednesday, and Baltic Secret looks a filly with a bright future ahead of her.
Bred and owned by Maine Chance Farms, the filly was always travelling well under Richard Fourie. Baltic Secret kicked well clear in the closing stages of Wednesday’s www.caperacing.co.za Maiden Juvenile Plate (Fillies) (1000m) to win impressively by three and three-quarter lengths.
She was one of four winners on the day for her trainer Justin Snaith and one of two winners on the card for her jockey.
Out of the Captain Al mare Best Kept Secret, Baltic Secret is bred on the same Querari/Captain Al cross as graded stakes winners Head Honcho and Kampala Campari.
The filly is the third two-year-old winner this season for Querari, South Africa’s Leading Sire of 2YOs in both 2018-2019 and 2021-2022.
One of more than 100 stakes winners for his excellent sire Oasis Dream, Querari also enjoyed notable success at the recent National Yearling Sale where Querari sired yearlings made up to R900 000 at this year’s National Sale.
