Querari filly wins on debut

6th September 2021

Maine Chance Farms’ G1 winning stallion Querari, who enjoyed such a wonderful season in 2020-2021, looks to have come up with yet another bright prospect in the form of Lillybelle.
The latter made a big impression when she made a winning debut at Durbanville on Monday afternoon.

Trained by Andre Nel, the La Plaisance bred and owned three-year-old rocketed home, under Greg Cheyne, to get up and win Monday’s Tabonline.co.za Maiden Plate (3-Year-Old Fillies) (1250m) in soft underfoot conditions.

The well bred Lillybelle, who is out of the Jet Master mare Jet Flo, looks another progressive three-year-old for her sire this year.

Other promising three-year-olds representing Querari this season include G2 Prosport International Debutante winner Maryah, Listed Tabonline.co.za Irridescence Stakes queen Maria Querol and Listed Lady’s Slipper Stakes heroine Homely Girl.

South Africa’s Leading Sire of 2YOs in 2018-2019, Querari, whose progressive son Debonair won the fifth race at Durbanville on Monday,  has five lots on offer at the 2021 CTS Ready To Run Sale.
