Maine Chance Farms’ G1 winning stallion Querari proved very popular at Friday’s CTS Ready To Run Sale.
The Oasis Dream stallion ended the Ready To Run auction as the Leading Sire by Aggregate, with Querari’s nine lots to sell grossing R2 095 000 in total.
Querari’s top lot at the 2018 CTS Ready To Run Sale was the Normandy Stud consigned Rio Querari, who was knocked down to John Freeman for R625 000.
Catalogued as lot 50, the striking colt, a half-brother to 3 winners, was produced by the unplaced Windrush mare Arctic Breeze –a full-sister to graded stakes winners Nordic Breeze and Rushing Wind.
Querari was also responsible for a colt (Lot 36) who fetched R400 000 to the bid of Vermaak Equine.
Already named Querari’s Cowboy, he was also consigned by Normandy and was produced by the four time winning Western Winter mare West To East.
A half-brother to high class performers Quasillo and Quidura, Querari is enjoying another good season with his runners including such feature race winners as Warfarer (Michaelmas Handicap), Pleasedtomeetyou (Sophomore Sprint) and Arianos Shadow (KZN Fillies Guineas Trial), and WSB Grand Series Consolation hero Big Mistake.
