Ridgemont’s star stallion Rafeef came up with a pair of eye catching winners at Hollywoodbets Durbanville on Saturday.
The son of Redoute’s Choice enjoyed a 100% success rate at Hollywoodbets Durbanville on Saturday with Rafeef responsible for just two runners the country course.
Rafeef looks to have a very smart filly on his hands in the form of Sparkling Star.
That Candice Bass trained three-year-old made it back to back wins when making much of the running to win Saturday’s Race Coast Incentives Powered By Hollywoodbets Class 5 (F and M) (1250m).
Undeer Aldo Domeyer, Sparkling Star appeared beaten close home but she fought back gamely and went away to win by a length and a half.
Now a two time winner from four starts, Sparkling Star was bred by Greenacres Trust & Hemel ‘N Aarde Stud.
The regally bred filly, who is out of the Rambo Dancer mare Cast A Spell, is owned by Greenacres Trust, Mr David & Estate Late Dr Sandy Hepburn-Brown & Mr Guy Shirtliff.
Rafeef’s second success on Saturday came when his Vaughan Marshall trained son Ireland Forever captured The Social Squad Syndicate Class 4 (1250m).
Under Sean Veale, the four-year-old Rafeef gelding stormed home from near the back of the field to get up and score by half a length.
Another owned by Marsh and Guy Shirtliff, Ireland Forever was bred by Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein.
Out of the Fort Wood mare Erin, Ireland Forever was a R1 450 000 buy from the 2024 National Yearling Sale.
His G1 Computaform Sprint winning sire Rafeef enjoyed great success at the recent August Two Year Old Sale, where the Ridgemont resident had two-year-olds make up to R1 600 000.
