Gimmethegreenlight, who is currently well clear on South Africa’s Leading Second Crop Sires table, enjoyed another profitable weekend with three more winners on Saturday.

His son Gimme Green picked up his second win when victorious over 1400m in Mauritius on Saturday, and he preceded two more runners by the G1 L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate winner scoring victories on the day.
Duncan Howells trains the useful Gimmethegreenlight filly Accidental Tourist, who landed the second race of her career when victorious over 1200m on G1 Mercury Sprint day. Bred by the Hemel ‘n Aarde Stud, Accidental Tourist, out of the Jet Master mare Oopsy, was a R125 000 buy from the 2015 March Yearling Sale.

She is bred on the same Gimmethegreenlight/Jet Master cross as G2 SA Fillies Nursery winner Green Plains.

The Daytona Stud bred Power Grid became the third winner on Saturday for Gimmethegreenlight, when downing top class sprinters Tevez and Silicone Valley in a pinnacle stakes over 1200m. Now a three time winner, from just nine outings, Power Grid looks a potentially smart sort in the making and he should be followed during the winter months.

Gimmethegreenlight, whose first crop has produced six stakes winners and second crop four, could be handsomely represented in Greyville’s graded 2yo features at the end of the month.

His son Cat’s Legacy has been entered in the G1 Premier’s Champion Stakes, while daughters Frederico’s Dream, Green Ice, La Bella Mia and Marsala all entered for the G1 Thekwini Stakes. Another filly by the son of More Than Ready, Virga, has been entered for the G3 Umkhomazi Stakes on the same day, and Gimmethegreenlight fillies Girl In Gold, Green Ice, Light On Her Toes, Marsala and Virga all entered for the same day’s G3 The Debutante.
